DISNEYLAND!

From Tuesday, April 29 to Saturday, May 3, I went on the Sullivan Heights Disneyland Leadership Trip. During this trip, we learnt about how to be a good leader and teamwork. We spent 3 long days in the park in 37 degree heat. On average, I walked about 14 kilometers a day through the park. It was really hot so I drank lots of water and stayed hydrated. Overall, I had an amazing time and will never forget this experience.

Vounteering

All year, I have been volunteering with my sister's Rhythmic Gymnastics Team and coaching them. Over the course of the year, I have put in more than 35 hours, helping them prepare of tournament and competitions. I really enjoy coaching them because they have so much positive energy and make it a great experience for me too. Also, I think it makes me a more helpful, kinder, and better person. Over the summer, I am helping my sister practice and get ready for the season to start up again in September!

Locomotion

On Tuesday, April 22, our block did Locomotion for block wide fitness. I really enjoyed this fitness day because it was a great chance for me to see how much I improved since last time and push myself to the limit. There were a few things I did to improve since last time. First of all, I went to the buzzer every time, even if the round was almost done. I took less water breaks and kept telling myself to not quit. One activity I believe I improved on was the frog jumps. I did the exercise correctly, making sure I touched the ground every time. One exercise I had trouble with was the inch worm, so I modified it so I could use it as a exercise. Instead of doing regular push ups, I did knee push ups, to make sure that I was still working. Through out the block, I worked with different girls in the class. Everyone was trying their best and motivating each other, which created a great atmosphere. After we finished, Erlynn, Barry, and I did a cool down stretch, which was a great way to end the block! Below, I have attached a picture of Valeria, Erlynn, and I after the workout.
